Welcome to the AltCode.cc Help page. This page is made to help you understand how to use our website, find Alt codes, copy symbols, and type special characters easily.
AltCode.cc provides Alt codes, symbols, Unicode values, HTML codes, and special characters for daily use. You can use these symbols in documents, emails, websites, social media posts, design work, coding, study notes, and other typing needs.
How to use AltCode.cc
Using AltCode.cc is simple. You can search for a symbol by name, browse symbol categories, or open a specific Alt code page. Once you find the symbol you need, you can copy it directly or check its Alt code details.
Each symbol page may include useful details like symbol name, symbol preview, Alt code, Alt number, Unicode value, HTML code, and related symbols. This helps you understand and use the symbol correctly.
How to type Alt codes
Alt codes are mostly used on Windows computers. To type an Alt code, turn on Num Lock, hold the Alt key, and type the number using the numeric keypad. After typing the number, release the Alt key. The symbol should appear.
For example, to type the degree symbol, you can hold Alt and type 0176 using the numeric keypad. Then release the Alt key to get °.
If Alt codes are not working
If an Alt code is not working, first check whether Num Lock is turned on. Also make sure you are using the numeric keypad, not the number keys at the top of the keyboard.
Some Alt codes may work differently based on your device, operating system, keyboard layout, browser, or software. If the Alt code does not work, you can use the copy button from our website instead.
Copying symbols
If you do not want to type the Alt code manually, you can simply copy the symbol from AltCode.cc. This is useful for laptops, mobile devices, tablets, and keyboards without a numeric keypad.
After copying the symbol, you can paste it into your document, message, website, email, or social media post.
